Mecone is proud to have assisted CPDM with obtaining development consent for a landmark development in the Castle Hill North precinct within The Hills Shire Local Government Area. The redevelopment of the site includes the demolition of 14 existing dwellings and the construction of 3 x five storey residential flat buildings and 6 x 3 storey townhouses comprising 118 new dwellings over basement car parking.
Recent research by Mecone unveils a significant trend: Sydney’s new housing development is leaning heavily towards greenfields, despite government aspirations to the contrary. In just five years, greenfield housing has jumped from 18% to almost 50% of new development, while homes near train stations have dwindled from 42% to 31%.
But there’s a looming challenge. With greenfield areas rapidly filling up and only an estimated four years of housing capacity left in Sydney, are we on the brink of a deeper supply crisis?

Mecone is proud to have assisted SASS developments in securing planning approval for their development at 713 Barkly Street, West Footscray within 7 months of lodging the application with the City of Maribyrnong. Working alongside Architecton, the project comprises of 19 townhouses (predominantly over three storey’s) and provides much needed housing in West Footscray. The site was prime for redevelopment given the site’s location within a designated Urban Renewal Corridor, within walking distances to activity centre/s and public transport. The development provides a high level of amenity for future residents with a mixture of townhouse types and living spaces.
