Business Planning Day 2023

Last Friday, Mecone teams from across Australia united for our highly anticipated annual business planning day. It was a remarkable occasion that allowed us to foster strong connections, foster collaboration, and commemorate our collective accomplishments from the past year. Additionally, we warmly welcomed 18 talented individuals who joined our organisation within the last 12 months.

39 Palmer Street, South Townsville

Infinity Townsville is a boutique, 12-storey residential towner fronting the Townsville Maritime Museum and Marina on Palmer Street. Mecone is proud to have assisted Urbancom in securing one of the fastest town planning approvals within just 4 weeks. Infinity Townsville underwent a detailed pre-lodgement works to limit any additional information required as through the assessment process. This pre-lodgement was crucial to ensure all issues were resolved within the town planning documentation.

2-6 Tweed Coast Road, Cabarita

Mecone is pleased to have assisted with the approval of the 4-storey residential flat building on the corner of Tweed Coast Road and Cypress Crescent – through both the Development application and the appeal. A hard fought win for the project team, but well worth it. A great design by Ellivo that responds to site constraints, is sensitive to adjoining development, and reflects the emerging character of the area. Look forward to seeing this one come to life.

629 Pacific Highway – Design Competition

Mecone is pleased to have assisted Polytec Group with management of a design competition at 629-637 Pacific Highway, Chatswood.

Congratulations to PBD Architects on their winning design, which was highly commended by the jury. The jury praised the design concept, geometry and modularity of the scheme which resolves key site constraints including privacy and building separation. The scheme optimises residential views, and delivers street activation to Pacific Highway, Gordon Avenue and Hammond Lane.

The development will comprise a 2-3 storey commercial podium, and 23-storey residential building with up to 75 apartments.

We look forward to working with the project team as the scheme progresses to a Development Application.

267 Moggill Road, Indooroopilly

Mecone is pleased to have assisted in gaining approval for an 11-unit townhouse development at 267 Moggill Road, Indooroopilly. We look forward to seeing works commence on site, once the Moggill Road Upgrade has been completed. We enjoyed working collaboratively with Ling Studio, Pekol Traffic and Transport, Urbis (landscape), and Malcolm Douglas Consultants to get this one across the line with Brisbane City Council.

46-50 Latham Street, Chermside

Mecone is proud to have assisted Highgate Management  in securing approval of a purpose-built Co-living development located at 46-50 Latham Street, Chermside.

New to Brisbane, Co-Living is gaining traction globally, offering an alternative to the conventional rental product. A sub-market of the Build-to-rent sector, the micro-units within a co-living building are owned by a single commercial operator who manages the ongoing leasing and management of the building. Co-living provides affordability and flexibility, with a focus on community and shared spaces.

507 Kessels Road, Macgregor

Mecone is pleased to have assisted our client in achieving approval for a service station, shop, and food and drink outlet at 507 Kessels Road and 539 – 541 Mains Road, Macgregor.

96-100 Gordon Street, Maribyrnong

Mecone has successfully assisted Barbat James on securing planning approval for their development at 96-100 Gordon Street, Footscray. Designed by award winning architects (KUD) the project comprises 17 townhouses contained within a 3 storey building and basement parking. Mecone facilitated the application with the City of Maribyrnong which has received 13 objections and we are pleased that no appeals were lodged. Images courtesy of KUD Architects
