The Crookwell 2 Wind Farm was approved on 10 June 2005 for 28 wind turbines with a total project capacity of 96 MW, to supply 42,000 homes in Canberra, generating 300,000 megawatts/hour per year of renewable electricity. The Crookwell 3 Wind Farm was approved 14 October 2020 for 16 wind turbines and a total project capacity of approximately 50MW. Energy produced is connected to the grid via the Crookwell 2 wind farm terminal station, which in turn connects through a 330kV Transmission Line system. The Wind Farms are owned and operated by GPG Australia.
