As part of the SIA, Mecone assessed the potential impacts of the project on the surrounding community during both the construction and operational phases. This assessment incorporated current and projected social conditions, as well as feedback from the community. Mecone also developed and distributed project information and engagement materials to local residents and relevant stakeholders.

The SIA proposed several strategies to mitigate potential negative impacts and enhance positive outcomes. These included a social procurement strategy for hiring construction and operational employees and operational management strategies to promote worker health and wellbeing.

Mecone provided a number of urban planning services including:

• Preparation of a robust Social Impact Assessment meeting DPHI requirements
• Preparation and distribution of a project information sheet, inviting members of the community to provide feedback
• Preparation and utilisation of an online community survey to accompany the prepared project information sheet
• Preparation of an Engagement Report in response to the SEARs
