Designed by AJC Architects, the shop-top housing proposal was the winning entry in a Council-led design competition and received development approval from Willoughby City Council in December 2024.

The SSDA further enhances the scheme by increasing residential capacity and incorporating affordable housing, contributing to NSW’s housing targets and the National Housing Accord. AJC’s refined design retains the essence of the original winning concept while delivering a high-quality residential outcome for the Chatswood community.

Mecone led key aspects of the planning process, including:
• Coordinating the Design Excellence Bridging Strategy
• Preparing the Environmental Impact Statement and Social Impact Assessment
• Managing lodgement and ongoing planning advisory
