Development Application Approved – Hunter Valley

The redevelopment of the site includes a function centre, restaurant, alterations and additions to existing accommodation, construction of new accommodation buildings, a new pool and pool house, cellar door, dwelling and associated driveways, parking and landscaping works by the Hunter & Central Coast Regional Planning Panel. The approved development will provide a significant contribution to the Hunter Valley Wine Country region.
Mecone was introduced to the project to assist with the unique and complex nature of the approval pathway. The site was subject to an existing approval for the refurbishment of existing buildings on the site and ancillary works, however a further application was sought to expand on this existing approval. As a result of our advice, the application was lodged and approved as an amending development application as explored through AQC Dartbrook Management Pty Ltd v Minister for Planning and Public Spaces [2021] NSWCA 112.
The application was approved by the panel in just 110 assessment days from lodgement. We are particularly proud of this outcome given the complexities surrounding the project and the substantial scope of work proposed as part of the redevelopment. This is a great example of a great outcome as a result of collaboration between Council staff, the Hunter & Central Coast Regional Planning Panel and the project team.
