The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has announced the release of the 2023 Sydney Housing Supply Forecast concurrently with the Budget announcement.

The new forecast revises previous estimates, predicting fewer housing completions for the 2023/24 financial year than previously forecast, followed by more completions in 2024/25 and 2025/26. The forecast projects a stable level of housing activity of approximately 28,000-30,000 dwellings annually from 2023/24 to 2027/28, with a rise to around 34,000 dwellings in 2028/29.

We eagerly anticipate the next update to the Greater Sydney UDP Dashboard, which will incorporate the latest Sydney Housing Supply Forecast data and the most recent figures on housing completions.
