About the project

The application was to allow for the expansion to an existing Seabrae aged care facility in Rothwell to accommodate an additional 38 beds. The extension integrated into the existing facility via a connection link and is provided as a single storey building accommodating the additional beds, amenities and other associated indoor and outdoor activity spaces. As part of the application, a boundary realignment was proposed to ensure the whole facility remained on one lot (21 Buchanan Road) and a balance lot for future development.

The scope of works included:

  • Detailed planning advice to guide built form outcomes with regard to height, landscaping, refuse and traffic arrangements
  • Liaison with client, consultants, council and others
  • Preparation of Planning Report including code tables and application package
  • Negotiation with Moreton Bay Regional Council on several performance outcomes and coordination of response to Request for Information and Further issues Letters
  • Notification of affected entity (SARA);
  • Coordination of public notification
  • Review of final approved package to ensure conditions are reasonable and relevant.
