Mecone were engaged to provide specialist land use investigation, analysis services, and input into the assessment of available alternative options for future transport hub (interchanges/stations) locations within a defined study area in Greater Parramatta. These investigations were to help Transport for NSW understand the impacts of various station locations on the growth of Greater Parramatta, optimise the positive impacts of transport infrastructure investment, with the aim of informing corridor preservation.

Detailed constraints and opportunities analysis was undertaken to inform the land use uplift assessment. This assessment was undertaken for several scenarios to help determine the best possible station locations for future lines.

Additionally, through a developed set of Place criteria, a qualitative assessment of each place and the transformative impact of a new station also helped inform the final selection of preferred locations.

This work was undertaken with significant stakeholder engagement and input from various government agencies and local councils.
