About the project

Mecone undertook a modelling exercise for employment precincts in the Cumberland LGA to determine the existing gross floor areas (GFA) and the latent capacity available under the existing planning controls. Mecone’s scope of work included:

  • Establishing the existing floor area based on building footprints, land use and storeys analysis.
  • Modelling of low, medium and high development scenarios for employment lands in the LGA to identify whether sufficient capacity was available in the existing planning controls to meet employment growth projections.
  • Creation of graphics and maps to visually represent the modelled data in an aesthetically pleasing and engaging manner.
