About the project

Western Sydney is facing an unprecedented level of growth and investment over the next few decades, presenting major opportunities for the Camden LGA. It is on the cusp of major transformation enabled by the Government’s vision for a metropolis of three connected, 30-minute cities and significant planned public and private investment. Camden is well placed to leverage upon social and economic opportunities linked to this growth and investment. To understand these opportunities in greater detail, Mecone was engaged by AEC Group (on behalf of Council) to undertake a range of analysis and provide advice relating to Council’s current stock of land zoned for industrial and other business uses. The scope of works includes:

  • Inform upon the potential impacts upon Camden’s industrial land stock associated with major infrastructure and other strategic planning.
  • Create a lot-based GIS model capturing property information on built form and existing gross floor area.
  • Undertake a constraints analysis to understand where there is potential for floor area increase.
  • Model the potential employment capacity captured within Camden’s industrial lands.
