About the project
The work is responding to large areas of unfunded, unacquired and ambiguously-managed land spanning stormwater infrastructure, transport corridors, local and regional open space and environmental lands, where developers may become default long-term owners of areas that could be better utilised for the benefit of the future community.
Mecone provided a number of services including:
- Review of future ownership, governance, funding and management options for blue-green land parcels
- Analysis of land performing stormwater, transport-corridor, open space and environmental functions across the Wianamatta – South Creek and Duncan’s/Mulgoa corridors
- Identification of risks where land is unfunded, unacquired or ambiguously managed
- Recommendations to optimise blue-green land for the benefit of the future community
