The Department of Planning and Environment (DPIE) requires local councils to prepare Local Strategic Planning Statements (LSPS), setting out a 20-year vision for ‘land use in the local area, the special character and values that are to be preserved and how change will be managed into the future’.

Mecone assisted Council through AEC in the production of the Blacktown Local Housing Strategy. Mecone’s scope of works included:

• Analysis and aggregation of data from the DPIE Housing Mapping and Scenario Tool.
• Enriching DPIE’s housing activity data by creating additional dimensions for the data, such as breakdowns by zoning and precincts.
• Creation of graphics and maps to visually represent the data in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
