About the project

The site covers three lots on Well Street that is within close proximity to the Middle Brighton Railway Station and the Church Street shopping strip.

The proposal , led by Bayley Ward Architects, came up with a high quality and efficient design that maximised the sites frontage and exposure but accounted for the site slope and sensitive interfaces. The use of arches and framed elements, along with the beautifully tree lined street, the development is well integrated into the street and setting a precedent in high quality architecture.

The apartments have an excellent mix of internal and external amenity and represent the new streetscape and scale of built form that is evolving along Well Street. Located in an activity centre in a beautiful Bayside Location, the demand for higher density but appropriate development is being sought and this project carries out the vision and realisation of the state and local planning policy.

Mecone was engaged to undertake the following tasks:

  • Preliminary concept design advice
  • Liasing with project consultants.
  • Preparation of Town Planning Report and lodgement of planning permit application.
  • Management of the application process from lodgement through to Council decision.
  • Ongoing advice and management of project to obtain endorsed plans.
