The SIA assessed the potential impacts of the proposal on the surrounding community during both the construction and operational phases. This evaluation considered current and projected social conditions as well as community feedback. Project information and engagement materials were developed and distributed to the local community and key stakeholders to ensure transparency and inclusivity. The assessment proposed several mitigation and enhancement strategies, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive Communications and Engagement Strategy for the construction and early operational phases.

Mecone provided a number of  planning services including:

• Preparation of a robust Social Impact Assessment meeting DPHI requirements
• Preparation and distribution of a project information sheet, inviting members of the community to provide feedback
• Preparation and utilisation of an online community survey to accompany the prepared project information sheet
• Preparation of an Engagement Report in response to the SEARs
