Sep 2025
The theme, Resilience at the Edge, focused on how planning can deliver more housing, support sustainable and resilient communities, and strengthen connections to transport and Country.
Senior Planner, Amber Nehal PIA (Assoc.) contributed to the Conference in two capacities:
• Speaking on the Emerging Planners’ Perspective – Shaping Tomorrow’s Cities panel, where she shared insights from the Western Sydney experience, reflecting on challenges of growth, opportunities in existing urban areas, and new approaches to place.
• MC’ing the Emerging Planners Workshop: Walking Our Planning System Back from the Edge, which considered the challenges faced by local government planners and encouraged emerging professionals to identify practical improvements to the planning system.
We’re proud of Amber’s leadership and insight, which highlight the important role emerging planners play in shaping the future of our cities.
Thank you to PIA NSW for facilitating an engaging and thought-provoking conference, and to all speakers and participants who continue to drive meaningful conversations about the future of planning in NSW.
