The master plan for Moore Point reached a significant milestone after an almost decade long process, with the NSW Government approving the masterplan last week for public exhibition.

Mecone are proud to have assisted in this monumental precinct, working with joint land owners Coronation Property and Leamac Property Group in the preparation and lodgement of the planning proposal. The Planning Proposal would convert Moore Point to an expansion of the Liverpool CBD as a true mixed use precinct that would increase the accessibility to Georges River and give access to future residents and workers to the Liverpool CBD.

The 32-ha site is set to be transformed into a vibrant, master-planned community delivering 11,000 homes and will provide opportunities for affordable housing for frontline workers, a new Public School for 1,000 students, pedestrian bridge links across the Georges River, over 10-ha of open space and trees and 8km of riverfront walking and cycling paths for the community and creating 23,000 jobs.

Mecone – Urban Planning Founder and Director, Ben Hendriks, has been advising the joint owner group on this major project and is thrilled to see it reach this pivotal milestone. “It has been an incredible journey working on this major together with the broader Western Sydney team. Mecone congratulates Coronation Property and Leamac Property Group on achieving this milestone, which represents a significant step forward in creating more housing and essential amenities for Sydney’s communities. This is a major leap in the right direction for urban renewal in the region.”
