Federal Budget – Infrastructure

Infrastructure investment drives economic growth enhances productivity and connects Australians to each other.  Mecone – Urban Planning has a strong track record in undertaking land use analysis, research, strategy, and policy development that brings infrastructure and land use projects to life, including fast rail, integrated land use developments and spatial analytics.

The Australian Government has allocated $17.9 billion to support infrastructure projects as part of its ten-year infrastructure investment pipeline.  Within NSW $1 billion has been allocated for the Sydney to Newcastle Faster Rail upgrade, which will better connect the Hunter, Central Coast and Sydney regions. Over $8b will benefit transport and enhance water security for Queenslanders and $2.8b in projects will improve transport and freight movements in Victoria
