Description
Mecone is currently working with Good Luck Plaza (GLP) to facilitate planning approval for a 24 storey mixed use development at 17-21 First Avenue, Blacktown. The proposal is a Stage Significant Development (SSD) and will be Blacktown’s first four star hotel in the CBD comprising 270 hotel rooms, 110 serviced apartments and associated retail, lobby, function, conference, dining and communal areas. Marriot are anticipated to move into the development to occupy to hotel component to meet their forecast visitor accommodation demand.
The proposal builds off Blacktown City Council’s recent endorsement of the Blacktown and Mount Druitt CBD Planning Proposal, which amends local planning controls to support the creation of strong and vibrant mixed use centres. The proposal aligns with the aspirations and objectives of the CBD Planning Proposal by reinforcing the role of Blacktown CBD as a Strategic Centre as mandated through the Central City District Plan.
