Western Sydney Rail Needs
Description
The Australian and NSW governments are undertaking the Western Sydney Rail Needs Scoping Study to better understand the need for rail investment to support the growing Western Sydney population and the new Western Sydney Airport.
The study included an assessment of the transport needs for a broad area including the Western Sydney Priority Growth Area, the Western Sydney Employment Area, the Western Sydney Innovation Corridor, parts of the North West Priority Growth Area and the Western Sydney Airport site.
Scope of Works
Mecone was engaged by Transport for NSW to provide specialist land use and planning services for the Western Sydney Rail Needs Scoping Study. Services included a strategic review of the city shaping and urban renewal opportunities for the Western Sydney rail options west of Parramatta that was used to inform the transport needs analysis.
