Capitol, Bondi Junction


The approved development is for a 20 storey mixed-use building consisting of 90 residential units and three ground floor retail shops. Located in Bondi Junction, the development is in very close proximity to public transport, a variety of shops and many local services and amenities, including Centennial Park.

The development offers a contemporary design that enhances the Oxford Street frontage, provides a through site link to Pine Lane and includes a large inviting entry to the ground floor retail spaces and residential entry.

Scope of Works

Mecone was engaged by Legacy Property to initially provide only urban planning services to support the development application. However, as the project progressed Mecone took a more active role in assisting Legacy to manage the lodgement of the DA, drive the DA through the DA process and establish the strategic direction for project. Some of
the key aspects of Mecone’s engagement included:

  • Liaising with Council staff;
  • Preparing Statement of Environmental Effects and other supporting urban planning documents; and
  • Providing advice to architects on key issues.
