Emma Laing


Emma recently graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Urban Development (Urban and Regional Planning). Her thesis was focused on how land uses in coastal areas will be impacted by coastal hazards such as coastal erosion and storm tide inundation and subsequently how these land uses will change to face these impacts.

During her studies Emma worked as a student planner for two years in private consulting firms and was a member of the Queensland Young Planners Committee. Emma’s time working as a student planner provided her with experience including the preparation and lodgement of planning reports, planning advice and due diligence.
