Submission to the Central City Built Form Review

Mecone’s submission to Melbourne’s Central City Built Form Review, focuses on the detail of the proposed controls of the Melbourne Planning Scheme Amendment C270, as the concept of plot ratio and bonus plot ratio (or Floor Area Uplift) is well understood and an accepted practice in many developed economies.

Mecone supports the provision of greater certainty and consistency of built form outcomes, improvement of public amenity, the boosting of sustainable investment and enhancement of liveability. These are all logical and practical aims of any Planning Scheme – to balance the social, environmental and economic aspects of development across any city or region.
