Greenfield Site Development Consent Obtained

Mecone has successfully obtained development consent from Blacktown City Council for the subdivision of a greenfield site at Townson Road, Colebee. The proposal will subdivide the site into 283 residential lots and includes the provision of new roads, cycle and pedestrian pathways, landscaping, public open space area, and vegetated drainage areas.

Mecone has been involved with the landowners of the site for a number of years, previously obtaining a part-precinct release from the Minister to allow the site to be rezoned from a rural zoning to a residential zoning, and assisted with the preparation of the planning instrument and development controls.

The development adjoins the Greenway estate, which has been progressively developed into an estate of approximately 400 dwellings with planning assistance from Mecone. This stage required Mecone to resolve several complexities with Council including drainage and recreation design, environmentally sensitive land, native vegetation, traffic circulation, and bush fire prone land. The site is located in Sydney’s burgeoning North West Priority Growth Area, which is expected to house 250,000 people once fully developed.
