Alfred Street Precinct Planning Proposal

Mecone have proudly assisted Benmill in obtaining unanimous support from the Sydney North Planning Panel for the Alfred Street Precinct planning proposal to proceed to Gateway Determination. In recognition of the precinct’s site-specific and strategic merits, the Panel have acknowledged that the proposal represents an exciting opportunity to redeveloped the Bayer Building to deliver a high quality mixed-use precinct and tower that will mark the gateway entrance to the Sydney CBD.

The approval follows Mecone’s long-standing role in preparing the Planning Proposal. The proposal will rezone the site from B3 commercial Core to B4 Mixed Use and increase the maximum building height and floor space ratios controls to facilitate the delivery of a 24 storey mixed use residential tower, three 8 storey buildings and a shared podium complemented by extensive public domain works.A big congratulations to Benmill and the project architect Grimshaw.
