DA Approval for a Boutique Block of Units

The redevelopment of the site proposes a boutique Residential Flat Building with 20 residential units and a basement level for 16 car parking spaces. The site is conveniently located within close proximity to Petersham Train Station, a number of bus services and retail shops along New Canterbury Road. The Inner West Council supported an 8.1% FSR variation to the Marrickville Local Environmental Plan 2012 which was supported by a Clause 4.6 variation. 

The building has an L-shaped form which defines the corner of Gordon Street and Sadlier Crescent and is 5 storeys in height with the top level appearing as a lightweight mansard roof feature. The proposal leaves an area for communal open space to the rear which is visually connected to the public domain through glazing on the ground level. The proposal incorporates face brick which is consistent with the surrounding heritage items and incorporates warm, earthy tones to the façade.
